Nationalmuseum

Nationalmuseum is Sweden’s museum of art and design. Nationalmuseum is also a government authority with a mandate to preserve cultural heritage and promote art, interest in art and knowledge of art. The collections comprise of painting, sculpture, drawings and prints from 1500-1900 and applied arts, design and portraits from early Middle Ages up until present day.

Museum of Modern Art

Moderna Museet is one of Europe’s leading museums for modern and contemporary art. The museum collects, preserves, shares and exhibits modern art from the early 20th century and photography from 1840 and onwards.  This is a must when visiting Stockholm.

Fotografiska

Fotografiska opened up in May 2010 with Annie Leibovitz exhibition “A Photographer’s Life 1990-2005” and has since then been Swedens leading centre for contemporary photography. The museum has an exhibition space of 2,500 square meters, and features 4 major exhibitions per year and approximately 15-20 minor exhibitions.

The Hallwyl Museum
